Sound Memories...
Isn't it funny how our senses can help stir up memories? Like, whenever I smell a certain kind of aftershave/cologne it reminds me of my first "boyfriend" even if he really wasn't...and the reason why this came up is the fact that I stumbled upon this old Avril Lavigne song and...oh my god...this wave of memories just came flooding back!
It was "Things I'll Never Say" off of I think it was her first album...from a long time ago (at least 5 or 6 yrs)...I loved that CD! and I bought it the first week it came out...and listened to it constantly...I think I was a freshmen in high school and I had this major crush on one particular guy since probably 7th grade...we were in band together and in the same section as well (percussion)as throughout middle and into high school...of course he had no idea of my existence and I could barely put two words together when I was near him...oh fuck was I shy!! I remember I spent hours listening to this song...which sort of deals with the same problem...
After a year or so...my angsty self decided that I HATED this CD! and I put it away and eventually ended up selling at a yard sale or something...I hated how now everybody loved Avril Lavigne...and I just HAVE to be different than everybody else!! lol...anyway, thats why I got rid of it...plus there were too many painful and embarrassing memories attached to it...
well, after finding and downloading practically the entire album...I'm wishing I never got rid of it...and now i'm trying to find it cheap online...all the songs came to back to me (i had memorized every one)...and I now laugh at how stupid I was....ah, the past is a funny thing....
