All united and stuff...
Listening to: SoKo
I just spent the last 4 hours watching a portion of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. While it was pretty interesting to see the display that China put on for the rest of the world....I could only watch the ever growing procession of countries for so long....
While watching, though, it did occur to me how everyone looks so much alike...not necessarily same skin color, body type, etc...what I mean is that they all look like ....people
Ok...duh...I know that they are all human beings and all that...but....uh, how can i phrase this right???
Its like they all look they they could be my next door neighbor...regardless of what country they really are from and what language they speak...they just look so...normal
When I watch the news or go see a movie...whenever a certain country or ethnicity is being shown of talked about...you get this very stereotypical version of that race and culture...what you don't get is just a picture of the real person
All of these athletes...well, for the most part...looked positively giddy to be there, they just looked so happy...Germans, Iraqis, Iranians, Americans, etc...all are in this boat together...
I hope what i'm trying to say is coming across well....I've just watched 4 solid hours of this and I am tired....
