My Babies

Mood: getting sleepy...
Listening to: nothing

Shhh....sleeping babies!

Here is a picture of my two Boxer babies...Cody Mason (left) and Lucy Lou.

When I am downstairs on the computer, they both follow me and go to sleep in the chair in the office. I turn around, this is what I see all the time! Granted, this picture was taken a few months back so they're much bigger now. Cody is 7 months old and already 60 pounds, and Lucy is 8 months and 50 pounds.  Cody's dad was huge, around 75 pounds or so.... so he's gonna be a big boy. Lucy's parents were smaller, so hopefully she doesn't get much bigger!

No granddogs for me, thank you!

Mood: energetic. Why, I don't know.
Listening to: the dogs chase eachother around upstairs

Hey everyone...

I just wrote this long entry and it accidentally all got erased.

Grr.

Anyway, just a few updates.

My boxer dog Lucy is not pregnant. *sigh of relief* We got her fixed a few days ago and all is well. But this is what I don't get...

Yesterday I was sitting there on the couch with my husband, when all the sudden Lucy jumps on my other boxer Cody's back and "assumes the position" and just starts humping away on him! He didn't know what the hell to do... finally he started walking around the living room to get her off of him. She finally fell off him, but she kept right on humping the air. It freaked me out. Is that normal for a female? She gets her female parts taken out and decides she wants to be a male?!   Gross. I've never had a female dog so I have no clue when it comes to this stuff.  I just hope she gets out of this little phase of hers! How embarrassing!

Oh yeah....I'm gonna try to put a pic of Cody and Lucy on here... this journal thing won't let me do it as of yet. When I go to upload a pic, it either says the picture is too big or the file name is wrong.  Who knows. But I'll get some pics on here soon.

See ya!

Hello hello...

Mood: sleepy
Listening to: the dryer (doing laundry) :-)

Me again.

Not a whole lot going on right now... I'm debating whether to go to my parents' house  since I haven't been there in awhile. But then I think about how damn tired I am. I just finished up from my 3rd night turn in a row. I've been working steady nights for over 2 years now, and I STILL cannot get used to being up all night. I don't think you can ever get used to that. At least my last night was a decent one. I mean, I only had one patient who was butt naked walking in the hallway, and no one fell on the floor or anything like that...  so it was a good night.  lol

Anyway... my husband just stopped in real quick and said that he and one of his buddies he is doing work with are going to look at a job site and won't be back for awhile. So now I'm by myself all day... fun fun. I have a million and one things I could be doing... but do I want to do them is the question.

In other news.....   I think my girl boxer might be, um, "knocked."Which isn't good considering she's supposed to get fixed tomorrow morning. So now we have to get a sono on her or something so we can know for sure.  Those dogs have been humping like frickin' rabbits out in the yard, so my husband says. I on the other hand haven't witnessed it. Every time I look outside they're just chasing eachother around.  So who knows.  Lord, I hope she's not gonna have puppies. I told my husband, "well you know we'll have to keep one." and he says, "Yeah right... no way in hell are we having three dogs."   Grrr....

Wow...I just read over what I wrote, and this really is the most lame entry yet. Sorry. I just really have nothing exciting to write about today. It's just an all around rainy crappy day.

Hmm...sounds like a good day for a nap. I'll write more another time, hopefully on a more eventful day.

It's way too early....

Mood: tired
Listening to: The tv on upstairs

Hey everyone... I said I'd write again soon so here it is.

Like the title of this entry says....it's wayyyyy too early.  I don't know what's gotten into me lately. I would NOT classify myself as a "morning person" in any way shape or form, yet here I am up at 7am. Doing LAUNDRY none the less.  Jeez.... I'd better go to a doctor to see what the hell is wrong with me....hehe

Actually I'm just up early 'cause the husband rises at the ass crack of dawn to go to work... he owns his own business and if he's not at the garage (which IS right behind the house, which is nice...), his guys are calling him left and right wondering where he is and if he slept in.  So every weekday morning, I have to listen to the phone ringing and 3 different alarm clocks going off.  I know the routine now... first it's the clock radio, which blasts country music (the only station that will come in on it!) which I get out of bed all pissed off to try to find the "off" button. Next it's his cell phone alarm clock, which goes off every 10 minutes... and he gets upset if I turn it off...so I lay there wide eyed listening to the beeps get louder and louder.... it really is quite annoying. THEN... the mother of all alarm clocks, the one I call "the bastard alarm", and for good reason. It's just... a bastard. Everytime it goes off and I am in a sound sleep, I wake up with an instant headache. So I've secretly been shutting it off at night. I'm evil, i know.  SO...after all the alarms go off and he finally decides to wake up, he shuts them off.  I think "Great, I can go back to bed now."....  but no. Then he turns the tv on Fox News.   Then come the dogs, both jumping up on the bed, wagging their tails and trying to lick our faces. It's always fun getting your nose nibbled on in the morning....

So this is my routine in the mornings.... no wonder I am wide awake by the time he gets up for work. I don't HAVE time to fall back to sleep! I'm definitely going to have to take a nap later, as much as I might not want to. I have to work night turn tonight, and no way can I stay up until 8am tomorrow morning without getting a nap!  I'd be half dead. I know I really do need to switch to daylight shifts, but daylight at that place is a freakin' FIASCO. Everyone is so high strung and it's so fast paced, and I'm just the opposite... I'm all laid back and easygoing. Those people that come in on daylight drive me NUTS. Not particularly referring to the nurses I work with, but the higher-ups...  the clinical manager, supervisors, etc.   The steady charge nurse we have used to be our clinical manager, and sometimes I have to wonder if she still thinks she IS clinical manager. She comes in slamming charts around, letting out big sighs (which is THE most annoying thing.... and she has no idea she does it, which annoys me more)... wondering why this wasn't done, why this patient is still here...     Sometimes I just want to slam her head off the desk. That, or tell her that when she goes home that night, she'd better have some damn good sex so she comes back in a better mood the next day!!!!

What I deal with...  lol

Sorry about the babbling on and on.... but that's what this journal is for, right?!

I'm sure I'll write more soon.... see ya.
