My glasses broke in half.... oh my!

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: Glasses, broke, in, half, magnifying, glasses, Lens, Crafters

Well last night just before getting ready to go to the chiropractor I went to put my glasses on and they fell apart in my hands and they are the only pair I own! We picked up a pair of magnifying glasses on the way to the chiropractor and tomorrow I have an appt at Lens Crafters for an eye exam and a new pair of glasses.

Hubby wants to see the new Potter movie tomorrow night and I just don't want to go without glasses as it won't be as much fun for me. Hopefully they can get them done in an hour or so :)

I am doing abit of cleaning here and there but I am tired today so I do something then rest my knees. I so hope these gel injections work for me!!!

TTFN all,
Aly

I can't believe her family!

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: Thoughtless, family, members

I just heard from Dar and I could hear in her fragile sounding voice that something was wrong. It seems her brother and his wife 'have plans' to go to a graduation of their son's stepdaughter the night she is having her surgery and they won't be there!!!! They did this to her after her car accident when they couldn't have her go stay with them as they 'had plans'!!!! and I was sick but we had to care for her as they wouldn't. I can't believe they are pulling this selfish shit again, pardon my french. I am so pissed off at them right now I can't see straight!

I have my surgeon's appt and I guess we will have to rush down the highway to try and see her before her surgery and be there for her when she wakes up. She is so terrified of this surgery because of her mom dying.

Why are people so cruel??? She is so good to all of them she deserves so much better treatment then this!!!!!!!!

Car broke down

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: Car, in, garage, belt, problem, or, worse

Well hubby was out running an errand for our friend who just got out of the hospital when our car starting turning like a mack truck. He barely got it to the garage and he walked backed home since the car dealership is so close. We both had chiropractic appointments which now have been cancelled and we couldn't finish the task for Darleen so we have called her to see if someone in her family will finish the task for her.

What a day. I'm afraid to move.

Spoke to 'Gunga Din' at surgeon's office

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: Surgeon, appointment, scheduler, Gunga, Din

Well as I am now experiencing all kinds of wonderful effects from the cortisone besides being concerned over the time of my surgery, I had the misfortune of speaking to 'Ms. Gunga Din Surgery Scheduler' at my surgeon's office. Not only would she not listen to my concerns, when I told her that the surgical center told me there had been a change in time for my surgery, she told me that was impossible as SHE is the Surgery Scheduler and they are not to give out times. Be there at 12:30. At this point I feel 'steam' coming off the top of my head and I'm not even sure I want this surgical team touching me!

I fear that Sybil's cousin may have arrived in the form of me as a result of the cortisone. My goodness I am so agitated and edgy that I can't see straight and I surely didn't need that complication at this point in time. I keep getting these heat flushes, headaches, the rash is gone from my chest now, but I am clearly very upset about all of this.

Hubby is trying to help me deal with all of this. He stayed home awhile this morning to try and help me get a better start on the day and waited until after I showered to leave the house. He is sweet, so sweet to me, 99% of the time. The other time he is just 'checked out' in zone land recuperating, lol.

May God watch over us all and guide us with his gentle loving hands,
Aly

I really hate it that hubby has to work on Sundays

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: work, schedule

I really hate it that hubby's work week is Sunday thru Thursday. I never have my days straight and we have had to give up going to our church on Sundays. I will be so glad when he is able to get back on a normal shift as not only do I miss him on Sunday, but I miss our church and all the wonderful people there. It really helps my overall outlook for the entire week. The people are so welcoming and kind that it rubs off on everyone there and sets the tone for your week. Well this work shedule is definitely a pet 'beef' of mine.

We made the mistake of napping again yesterday afternoon so I wasn't able to sleep again until 5:30 this morning so I didn't get up until 11:30 this morning. At least that's an improvement over the day before when I didn't get up until almost 2. My days and nights are all messed up. Sometimes I think I must do it subconsciously so that I won't have to spend so many hours alone during the day. I never see anyone out and about here where we live so I guess most people are all working during the day. Since I can't work it makes a very long day for me. I so miss being a part of a company where I feel useful and look forward to the day's achievements. Taking care of the house and laundry etc, just isn't cutting it for me.

Well I will check in later on. I'll quit griping and do something productive around here.

Peace to your Hearts,
Aly

One of my 'beefs' about Yahoo games

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: beef, complaint, pet, peeve

Mood: GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

One of my favorite pastimes on the computer is playing spades, however, when other players use abusive language and insults to their partners just to intimidate them, I really do get upset. There is no need when playing a 'game' that people lose their sense of humankindness and decency. Some of these people need to go to etiquette training to say the least. They spoil what would be a potentially stimulating and fun game to a game of who can throw the foulest language or slurs at one another!

That's my pet 'beef' for the day, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrr.

Have a good weekend all.

What a scam!

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes

This company that we received this letter from is actually the real estate company that bought our unit and is trying to make us pay for things they had done once they took over the property! Hubby called our former apartment manager's office and they verified the fact that we owe them nothing except the last month's water bill and will send us a letter to that effect.

Hubby has written a very pointed letter to this company that is trying to scam us for this money and will give them one chance to make things right and then will report them to all the appropriate agencies in AZ. This is not happening.

Hope everyone is doing ok in their own little world today.

Peace out~

Mad as hell!

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes

Mood: Furious

As most of you know that read this blog once in awhile, hubby and I recently moved. We gave our 60 day notice in writing to vacate and turned in the keys to the office on July 31. A few weeks ago we received our first of 3 letters from a company we never heard of, Home America. The second one identified our former apartment and a new lease agreement. Hubby called and left a long message stating all the aforementioned details and not to contact us further.

Today we received another letter stating we owed them almost $1300.00! They are trying to charge us for the month of August, rekeying fees, carpet cleaning fees (we had them cleaned the Saturday we left) general cleaning fees, admin fees, etc!!! Hubby and I are furious and if need be will contact a lawyer besides reporting them to the BBS in AZ. We have a copy of our notice to vacate but this is a new company and they don't even know if we paid a deposit as this property has changed hands 4 times in 2 years!

I slept for 2 whole hours and woke up again all upset thinking that they can get away with this. We have had an impeccable rating from all of our previous apartment complexes and this is just not going to fly. He is going over in person and giving them one chance to make this right before pressing charges or filing complaints.

Some days you just have to shake your head at the crap that goes on. We know they were having trouble selling these apartments as condos and now they are trying to pass some of the costs on to us and we did nothing but honor our contract. We have had it after dealing with all the scorpions in that place for 2 years straight. They wouldn't spray more because they didn't want to kill the shrubs! Give me a break!

Ok, I'm done ranting for now, but I'm sure this is not the end of this story.

Huffing and Puffing,
Angry

Playing spades online

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes   Keywords: spades, cards, Yahoo

Now while I do enjoy playing spades immensely, I have found that playing spades at Yahoo is almost like putting a gun to your head some days, figuratively speaking, lol.

I have met so many obnoxious and foul players there that if it weren't for the love of the game and the few friends I've met there, I would have certainly given up a long time ago.

Many are mean and spiteful, bigoted and hateful. Make sure you wear your armor when going there as its a toss of the dice as to which kind of player you will either get as a partner or asĀ opponents. You will also run into the 3 minute a play person who is just idiotic and doesn't care if they waste their time or yours. They are hoping you will forfeit the game and they will just get the win.

Now while this all sounds ominous, I still have managed to find a few great players and partners, but it is a long tedious journey, lol.

Hugs,
Aly

Cell phones

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes

Well I guess hubby's old Motorola cell phone is about to kick the bucket or his battery is at least. It is an old phone and just won't hold a charge for any length of time. It gets very annoying to be chatting away and suddenly you are talking to 'dead air.'

So since we have Qwest service for about another 8 months I suppose we will have to go on a search for a decent one with a speakerphone that works with that service. He had hoped to wait until this contract is up and perhaps change our service and get new phones then. I don't think that is going to happen now. We rely heavily on our cell phones.

Anyone have a cell phone that they just love? Would like to start doing some research now.

If you work, what are some of your gripes about how things are run?

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes

Besides wanting more breaks and longer lunches and more sick time, what are some of the ways your company could improve on your surroundings, the management you are given and/or the consistency in how you asked to perform?
Are you told you have the ability to coach 360 degree's but find out later that when you do, you are penalized for it?
Do you get frequent updates on polices and procedures?
Is everyone treated fairly and without bias if the boss is friends with someone working in your department?
If you or someone else is not being treated fairly, do you dare report that to a manager?
I hope some of you will comment on this topic genuinely, smile!

Watched parts of Sin City and Munich last night

by: Buttercup2   Category: Gripes

Mood: Upset

I was about to fall asleep during Munich and I am so tired of hearing the word terrorist that I just can't stand it anymore. Well from there hubby put in Sin City and after the blood and gore and skin, I gave up and came into the other room. Instead of a night enjoying videos together, I just ended up grumpy and pissed off as I hate the latter kind of movies.

Just not a happy camper these days....
