I am so proud of hubby

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: Promoted, Manager

When hubby brought home the letter announcing he and the other candidate chosen as the two new Team Managers I had to have him read it to me and them read it myself. All the wonderful things said about him just made me smile and cry inside for joy as this has been a long hard road up to this spot he has now taken.

In the corporate world you sometimes run into roadblocks and this past year his was being discrimintated against because he didn't run with the favorite office pack rats so to speak. When he is at work he is there to work. Not be someone's puppet but to do his job to his greatest ability. Finally he got with a manager who recognized all the extra work he does, gave him more, and he excelled even more. HappyI'm tearing up just writing this I am so proud of his achievements. They are all his to claim. I just admire him besides loving him with all my heart.

I have been graced with a most loving, witty, brilliant husband.

Hubby got the promotion!

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: Promotion, manager

Well we didn't think he would hear until the end of the week but he got the call from work very early this morning that he has been promoted to a Manager!!! Woohoo big congrats to hubby for all his hard work. I am so happy for him and so proud of all his hard work and patience. This will make a huge difference in how we are able to manage financially. Perhaps we can even get into a house next year.

I did get my hair cut and it looks ever so much better. Hubby went for a trim and got butchered unfortunately. She did not listen to what he asked for at all so thankfully his hair grows fast and he won't look like he had a buzz job in a week or so. Bad timing for a bad haircut. We complained on the way out and they are going to send him a coupon for a free haircut. He said that's fine but she's never touching my hair again. Sigh, we all have our bad experiences at the hair salons.

We managed to get to the store to pick up a few items and then back home to rest my leg. My brother and sister-in-law sent a beautiful floral bouquet and vase for my birthday so that was nice to see when we got home. Now we just have to keep our cat from eating them.

Well off to rest for awhile,
Aly

Another Interview

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: Job, promotion, interview, waiting

Well hubby had his big interview today and now the waiting game begins. In the meantime I am stuck here in limbo trying not to have anything done to my knee until after this decision is made as I don't want it affecting their decision about him. I hope I can continue to deal with this through next week. Supposedly they will have their decision ready to hand out then.

I did get many phone calls taken care of today as well as emailing our church and asking them to add me to their prayer list. I called Brylane about a misting lamp I had purchased thru them that has stopped working and asked for a replacement so that is suppose to be shipped out to me at no charge. I tried to get some things accomplished while lying here and not just do nothing.

My friend has one week to go before her lap band surgery so she is on day 8 of only liguids with the exception of grilled chicken. I guess when she can't take it anymore with the liquids she is allowed a grilled chicken breast and has to eat it slowly and small bites. I give her credit for all she is going through in preparation for this life changing surgery.

Have a good evening all,
Aly

Hubby's evaluation went great

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: Performance, evaluation, job

While I can't go into specifics here about hubby's job, I can say that his manager feels he is doing a fantastic job and is going to be recommending him for a promotion within the department to her boss. He has been waiting for a promotion for several months now and she now feels the time is right. I am so happy for him and we will celebrate properly once I am out of this terrible pain and the surgery is done!

May Peace follow our footsteps,
Aly

Dealing with disappointments

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: employers, interviews, notification

Well hubby was suppose to be notified officially today before the end of his work day about his interview, and he wasn't. One of the Unit Manager's did say to him, "if you have any questions after talking to the recruiter you can talk to me about it on Tuesday." Well since they didn't notify him and she said that he has a strong feeling they went with the other candidate again. He is an expert in the department that he works in and the position was for the Trainer of the new hires for this department. He has been assisting with training over the past few months but has no formalized training experience. He is the top performer and is considered the resource champion of this department, however, the other candidate has had formal training experience, but has no knowledge of this department. Sigh, I can't bear to see him get so frustrated over this. He has been overlooked several times and knows he has been discriminated against but would have a hard time proving it.

My other concern is that they are holding him back due to my disability. He has had FMLA status for the past two years due to my health conditions. Now while they aren't SUPPOSE to discriminate against him for this status, I fear it may have something to do with it. I pray I am not right as they will continue to hold him back and he is a superior employee.

So now I am trying to get him out of his funk and remember we are doing ok. If this doesn't work out he will discuss his options with his Unit Manager.

Hugs,

Aly

Hubby has interview today

by: Buttercup2   Category: Job   Keywords: Interview, job, promotion

Well hubby has an interview today at noon for a training facilitator at the bank where he currently works as a team lead. He has worked very hard to achieve his current position and feels ready to move on and up in the company. I believe there is one other in contention for this position. They both have to appear before a panel of staff today as they make their final decision. Please hold him in your thoughts today as I know he wants this promotion so badly. I don't want him to get discouraged.

Well off for now to get laundry and other chores done. Have a good day folks!

Hugs and Peace to Your Hearts,
Aly
