Vermont wants to secede from US.....
"The argument for secession is that the U.S. has become an empire that is essentially ungovernable — it's too big, it's too corrupt and it no longer serves the needs of its citizens," said Rob Williams, editor of Vermont Commons, a quarterly newspaper dedicated to secession.
"We have electoral fraud, rampant corporate corruption, a culture of militarism and war," Williams said. "If you care about democracy and self-governance and any kind of representative system, the only constitutional way to preserve what's left of the Republic is to peaceably take apart the empire."
Well this news certainly caught my eye first thing today and I must say they do state sentiments that I am sure many American citizens must share at this point in time. Some may agree and some may be just starting to lean this way as many of the reasons they state for this act you simply can't argue with. Are citizens finally fed up with the way things are going here in the US? Are the principals that once made us a great nation being comprimised by fraud and corruption, and a war many feel we should never have started?
I guess we will all see as this little state... makes a statement!
