Our congregation is in a state of flux
Our church had the same minister for a little over 10 years when he decided it was time to move on for a variety of reasons, both personal and professional. The congregation is still in grief over his loss to the community as his spirit seemed endless in his devotion to caring for everyone.
Today we were introduced to our new interim minister and while he is an excellent speaker, he has mighty big shoes to fill. It is too early to tell how things will go, but our congregation is strong in its foundation and I believe will be fine in the long run. The search for a pastor for our church could be a lengthy process as they said the interim pastor could be with us as long as 18 months. I find that a huge amount of time personally, but perhaps it will take that much time.
We are all doing our best to keep an open mind and heart during this process and continue to support one another through this transition.
After church we went shopping and then to a Sunday brunch which was quite nice, and then abit more shopping before returning home. An afternoon siesta followed and this evening after dinner we all enjoyed a rousing game of 63 which has to be continued as it was a battle of wills as well as a battle to win, lol.
I hope the day treated you all well!
Hugs and Peace,
Aly
