Since September 11th, 2001, we see madness abound.
People killed by the thousands.
Great buildings crashing.
So many families broken, so many wounded;
the dead under the rubble and ashes, crushed underground.
The hatred that brought our lives to a halt
is a symbol of the violence in the vacuous hearts of tyrannical men.
I wonder if we'll wake up together on another glorious morning,
or will we vanish in an instant, at the hands of fanatics?
We look to our leaders to bring us to safety:
A World where peace prevails, where fear and terrorism fails.
As citizens of Earth we will show what our freedom means.
Our cause is just, our justice thoughtful and swift.
Victory will be ours, freedom won,
though there is uncertainty at the setting sun.
As we put our loved ones to sleep at night,
we will be together again at dawn's first light.
"Our cause is just, our justice thoughtful and swift. - I wish that this thought, this hope, had come to pass, but so far, it has not."
