A new schedule for us :)

Since hubby was promoted last week, his work schedule is now Sunday thru Thursday so I get to have him home Friday and Saturday!! Two whole days in a row, whatever will we find to do? (smirk) So my time here might change a little on those days... we'll see. He is a computer geek also tho and is often found lurking at Fark or addciting games, or the Potter sites, or aintitcoolnews, things like that. I still love him tho, lol. Hope you all have a nice weekend. Hugs, Aly

Exercise anyone?

I've started a new exercise program.

Immediately after waking in the morning, I always say sternly to myself, "Ready? Now:  Up. Down. Up. Down!"

And after two strenuous minutes I tell myself, "Okay, now try the other eyelid!

Missing family

Called my niece tonight as I haven't spoken to her in such a long time. Her husband is a military man so they travel alot, and usually not anywhere near us.

So we talked about making time for a quick trip to Washington state some time, and them coming here to see the Grand Canyon. I hope it comes to pass.

Our family is stretched out from the tip of WA to FL to ME, and VA and CT. We need a family reunion....

Others here in the same position?

Sure was good chatting to her.. just hearing her voice

Coffee hour chat?

Would be nice if a few of us could set up a coffee hour to chat now and then... :)  What do you think?

Let me know if you would like to conference chat.

Merci.

Watch your thoughts now :)

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Choose your words, for they become actions.

Understand your actions, for they become habits.

Study your habits, for they will become your character.

Develop your character, for it becomes your destiny

No matter where you are.. or where I live...

we are only a note away :)

We are so lucky to not be totally alone and to have access to reach and communicate to so many people almost every day.. except when the Net is a problem or our lives are too busy.

My ear is to the window here... smile~

Want to spice up the romance in your life?

Place a chocolate on the pillow before bed.

Put your loves favorite color rose under the windshield wiper.

Celebrate the anniversary of when you first met.

Warm her bath towel in the dryer for her.

Plan a "mystery date"

Guy's open the door for her...she loves it!

Rent a houseboat for a mini-vacation.

Spend your second honeymoon in the same place you went to the first time. Or your first anniversary of meeting - Same hotel, same Room,  and tell the hotel manager - you'll receive extra attention.

Trace "I love you" on a stick of butter or margarine.

While your love takes a shower, write the words "I love you" in the condensation of the bathroom mirror.

Play romantic music in your car while on your dates.

Surprise your mate with a candlelight dinner for two.

What are some of the ways you spark the romance in your life?

Share your ideas here. Never let your love life stagnate!

How creative do you dare let yourself get? Smile~

A thought to ponder..

To forgive is to set the prisoner free.

and then you discover the prisoner was YOU.

My ears are open to listening today ;)

so while I color up my hair to have it looking 'fabulous dahlings'', lol, I'll wait to hear from some of you.... about your day, your thoughts, current events, anything you'd like to share.

In the meantime, as usual, I'll hope it comes out blond and not purple or orange...

and hope the magic wand of color helps!

Loyalty in marriage?

Loyalty in Marriage

A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several
months, yet she had stayed by his bedside every single day. One day, he
motioned for her to come nearer.

As she sat by him, he whispered, eyes full of tears, "You know what? You
have been with me all through the bad times.

When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed,
you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the
house, you stayed right here. When my health started failing, you were
still by my side...You know what?"

"What dear?" she gently asked, smiling as her heart began to fill with
warmth.

"I think you're bad luck, get the hell away from me."

The power of friendships...

whether in person or online is so powerful.

To make connections in our daily lives is a great privilege, to make connections online with likeminded new-found friends is almost like a small miracle to me.. smile~

May peace bless your hearts and souls.

Sleepless in Phoenix

I'm not sure how many of you out there suffer from a sleeping disorder associated with fibromyalgia, but I can tell you it sure does wear you out when it hits. My nights and days are all mixed up and I sleep a few hours and then I'm up and feeling exhausted for much of the day. A nap ensues for a couple more hours. This is nuts. Not even Ambien helps when it hits.

So here I sit at 323 in the middle of the night, rambling on about this.

To all those who suffer from it also, may peace and sleep be close at hand.

Hugs,
Moi

Self assessment time

Mood: introspective

Seems like the time of year for me... or maybe its just this year, when I'm taking a closer look at myself, my flaws, areas for improvement, and it feels like I have so much work to do.

I need to exercise more.. both my body and my mind. I often neglect things that need to be done. Sometimes because of my fibromyalgia, sometimes because I'm on here and lonely. Regardless, I have to set my priorities better. In doing so, my self esteem  will improve.

I'm not a 'lazy person' by nature, but my priority setting behaviors need an overhaul...

Takes a while for me to get things...       so I won't give up on myself just yet, lol.

Hugs,

Aly

What do you do?

When friends you love and care for take advantage of you because its the easier thing to do rather than take on more of their own responsibilities?

In trying to help a longtime friend, I think we've enabled her to not take responsibility for herself, and she hates asking others for help. We're worn out and starting to feel it physically and emotionally.

Setting boundaries with those we love is so hard.. and feels risky too. Feeling walked on feels crappy too.

Life is sometimes really difficult, oui?

Listening corner invitation.....

Do you have anything you want or need to get off your chest and discuss?

I am a good listener, and perhaps we'll find we have something in common!

For me, I'm tired of worrying about money. With one income, in this economy, it sure is tough to manage. They should teach money management in schools, now that  would be more helpful than what I was taught, lol.
