Exposition on Words -The Power of the Written & Spoken Word
From the moment the hearing of the foetus within the Mother's Womb can denote sound and words - those words begin to have a profound influence on that unborn child. All through our lives what we read and what we think and speak makes us who we are. That which we see and hear has a double impact.
Language - the use of words colour and paint pictures for our imaginations all day long!! Words and their use are the most powerful instrument - to be used to enhance and enrich, to educate, uplift, encourage or to deflate, discourage, debase and deliver to depression Just like music "WORDS" can influence our emotions and our ambitions, indeed our very lives.
The Wise man once said, "As a man thinketh in His heart - so is he."
Words can develop great beauty and eloquence, paint the most glorious of pictures or bring the mind to a heavenly plain in which one can temporarily lose oneself. On the other hand, words can arouse rage, anger and the intent to murder.
All words should be truthful but regretfully we live in an age where lies lead the popularity ratings. We are constantly fed untruths by the media and by most with whom we associate. Covering up the truth is the one way we humans tend to preserve SELF. Then during the course of preservation of self, the whole truth is usually lost and only the lies are left. During the precess our characters are formed as liars. As we think, speak and act - we are.
How wonderful it is that we can live by the TRUTH, and become worthy citizens of the Community. To value oneself sufficiently to choose to live by a code of TRUTH. To acknowledge those with whom we associate enough to care for their hearing and knowledge that they only receive truth.
To raise our children to have values of honour, truth and compassion.
All this occurs through the lowly use of words. RIGHT WORDS. Beautiful words, soft and tender caressing and encouraging WORDS.
