I think Liberals are Crazy

Mood: Frustrated and annoyed

Multilateralism.  What is it?  It's an ideaistic completely non-realistic theory that liberals have when it comes to the War on Terror.  Liberals believe that in order for the United States of America to go to war with Iraq (or any terrorist harboring nation for that matter) it must have the unanimous consent of Germany, France, and the rest of the uneffective United Nations.  The liberals like to tell the citizens of the U.S. that the Bush administration's plan of "unilateralism" will be the cause of our demise in Iraq.  I have a few problems with this theory.  1) We are not in Iraq alone.  Since when does Great Britain's troops not count?  There are also troops from Poland, Australia and various other loyal allies aiding us in Iraq both during the war and now with the reconstruction.  2) Even if we were alone in this war, is that wrong?  If someone raped a group of teenage girls and only one girl was willing to go to the police to report the crime, should she not go because the other victims are unwilling?  Should someone have to have unanimous consent before they stand up for what is right?  I don't think so.  3) Our security is up to us to defend.  If we start letting France and Germany determine when and where we are allowed to defend our citizens and our country's interest overseas, we are headed for the destruction of appeasement.  I might add that France's track record of defending itself and its allies in wars isn't great.  They didn't do much about it when Hitler's Nazis marched right up to the Arc de Triumph back in WWII.  And as for Germany, not so long ago they were put in their place twice in 20 years.

We cannot allow another Hitler to happen.  Hitler's quest for power started much like Saddam Hussein's.  First you get rid of anyone in your military or country for that matter who doesn't agree with what your party represents.  Then you invade other nations.  Hitler invaded Poland, Hussein goes after Kosovo.  I see some striking similarities.  Just like Hitler had a hatred for Jews, Hussein has a hatred for the Kurds.  If we had allowed Hussein to continue to have control of Iraq, the destruction that would have followed would have been horrific.  In 10 years Hussein's Republican Guard could have been marching into Kosovo, Serbia, Iran, pretty much wherever they wanted to go and then onto Western Europe.  France again would not be able to defend itself and ask, "Where's the United States? They're always late in getting involved in wars." My answer to that question woud have been, "you idiots we tried to remove him 10 years ago and now  you're telling us we're too late?"  If France and Germany don't want to help the U.S. remove evil facsist dictators from power, not 60 years after another evil facsist dictator gained power in Europe, then so beit.  But they better not want to help in rebuilding Iraq.  They didn't sacrfice the money so they sure as hell are not going to benefit economically from the United States' human sacrifice.  Send the troops and then you get to  be involved in buidling the infant democracy that is Iraq.
