Bingo and Slots

Bingo games are a race among players for a big jackpot. The upcoming WSOS is a similar sort of competition except that it is slot based. Starting on the 1st of September and continuing on until the beginning of November, the biggest slot tournament ever will award the luckiest players cool cash prizes.

The tournament will be held in several parts where each weekend tournament will award a total of 25K with two bigger tournaments taking place on the 1st of October (100K in awards) and on the 1st of November (200K in awards). Entry in the initial tryouts is free. Winners at these tryouts will get to participate in the bigger contests for cash prizes of thousands of dollars. That means that participants get a free chance at some fabulous cash prizes! This is the sort of contest that no gamer should miss! Bingo players will immediately see that this is the equivalent of free bingo games with a chance at a very real jackpot. This is certainly not something anyone should miss!

Destined for Bingo

Early Recollections

I have just been asked about how I was first introduced to the game of bingo. When I think about my very first encounters with bingo it seems that bingo has been with me, to a certain extent, all my life. Even before I was born, it seems that I was destined to play bingo. This is evident in the fact that right before I was born, my older brother received a bingo game. This was a game with four or five reusable boards (they had two sided buttons with numbers on them that could be depressed and replaced). The bingo numbers were determined using a pair of dice in a special dice cup. This was supposed to be a sort of travel bingo game. It is with this game that I was first introduced to bingo.

Things I Learned

There were many things I learned from those travel bingo boards. Of course, I learned to play bingo. I also learned how to count (at least, till six). I also learned some of my letters (hey, BINGO are five letters in our alphabet! Learning those helped me learn...

On Male Chauvinism

If a Man Wrote the Question

In my previous blog entry I addressed a question that had been posed to me anonymously regarding whether or not "ladies play online bingo ". I declared that this question was a particularly loaded one and a great deal of meaning could be read into it depending on who exactly is writing the question. I then proceeded to suggest possible meanings behind the question on the assumption that the person asking it was female. I will now continue to address this question on the assumption that the person asking it is male...

A Bingo Player

Could the anonymous question asker be a bingo player? It is a distinct possibility that the person posting the question is actually an avid bingo player. If so, there are two possible explanations that I can think of. Either the asker is seeking to obtain my view regarding the respectability of bingo playing. In that case, I have already stated that bingo is incredibly respectable (see my previous blog entry). The...

Ladies and Bingo

Do Ladies Play Bingo?

This is a question that I was posed very recently. I felt that the weight of the question was such that it could not be ignored or put off. So, I have decided to take a brief break in blog line and address this burning question. First, I would like to point out that the question has been purposely worded in a very careful manner. There are several possible questions hiding behind this innocent looking wording.

If a Woman Wrote the Question

If a woman wrote this question (which is a distinct possibility), then there are two possible intentions that I can imagine for such a question. The first is a simple and innocent query regarding the epidemiology of bingo players. If this is the intention than the wording "lady" could either be a general reference to all females in general or it could refer to a somewhat more respectable portion of the same group (hence ladies and not women or females). If that is the question, the answer is: Certainly. No one could...

July Free Slots Tournament

Playing Bingo and Other Games

Although the primary subject of my blog is bingo and hence the blog name and content, we bingo players love all sorts of games. In fact, it would be interesting to hear what sorts of games different bingo players like (consider this an invitation to comment and state your preferences!). Of particular note are those games which are basically competitive gambling games and are thus of precisely the same genre as bingo.

Slots Tournaments

An excellent example of just such competitive gambling is what is known as a slots tournament. In a slots tournament everyone is playing slots games but only one will win the grand prize for being the consistently luckiest player. Such tournaments are lots of fun to join. This is especially true for the latest free slots tournament which is being hosted by All Slots Casino . The big thing here is that is it is absolutely free to get a chance at participating in the big tournament (all you have to do is sign...

What do you do with a Big Win?

A Continuation of a Previous Discussion

Before I discuss the comments of my readers, I would like to to continue the discussion from the previous blog. As you will recall, I described that a friend of mine won a big prize during my last bingo session. The sum he won was a total of ten glorious grand. Of course, this winning was accompanied by the minor jests surrounding the value of the dollar. After these friendly remarks, the discussion naturally shifted to the plans for the cash. Everyone who has ever played for big jackpots has probably spent several enjoyable moments wondering precisely what he would do if he should win the big prize. My friend, who is marrying off his second daughter in two months, decided that the money will all go for a fun vacation for himself and his wife. This is something he wanted to do very much and the big win will let him realize this dream.

A Nice Approach

This brings me to an interesting point that I hope to discuss in more detail in some future...

Hey, a Big Win!

While I Wait

While I await my faithful readers' comments on my last blog entry, I wanted to share an experience and discussion that I held the previous night, at my last bingo game. At this game, although my bingo game sessions were unimpressive, my friend and neighbor was decidedly successful. This led us to several fascinating discussions and speculations some of which I shall discuss anon.

The Unseemly Winning

Since this particular bingo game was hosted as a charity fund raiser, there is something strange in winning. Whereas money that is spent at the bingo game and lost is easily viewed as money given to charity and thus is not a true loss, it seems that money won could possibly viewed as money taken from the same charitable cause. Such a view might actually cause the lucky winner to feel bad at winning a large sum at the expense of the charity. Of course, neither of these views is precisely correct. If a person wishes to donate a sum to charity, the best way to go about it...

Waking After Bingo

Waking After Bingo

When waking up after a truly fun BINGO night there are certain thoughts that immediately go through my head. The first is that it is great to wake up after a good game. The second is that it is good to know that the money invested at the game has all gone to charity and good causes. Somehow, during the BINGO game, people feel more alive. Perhaps it is the adrenalin rush or perhaps the general excitement of the game. Be that as it may, the feeling persists and often lasts well into the morning after. Thus, the whole world takes on a new light and everything seems more special. Even the morning coffee tastes better! In speculating along these lines a number of questions have occurred to me.

The First Question

The first question that occurred to me was to wonder if other BINGO players feel the same way after a BINGO night. I can guess that the answer is probably yes and that is precisely the reason why I met so many people at the big BINGO game last night. People...

Friendly Competitvenessss

Going Bingoing

Last night was my BINGO night. I usually attend a BINGO night about twice or three times a month. My wife and I enjoy our nights out very much. It is always great fun to go out together. I remember the times I used to go to BINGO alone and it was not half as fun as enjoying the game together. There is something exciting about going to BINGO together and in fact one of our first dates involved a BINGO game. Although the race at the game is a competitive one, somehow this competitiveness does not promote antagonism. One might expect there to be a measure of antagonism that might develop against the winner as is sometimes seen in other races but for some reason, in BINGO, that is not the case. There is a sort of group feeling that at least someone has won and hurray for him! The same holds for my wife and myself. Although we each get our own BINGO cards and we do view it as a sort of competition, there is no risk of a negative feeling of competitiveness developing. Rather we are...

Bingo Meditation

A Special Experience

In my last blog entry I described the special experience of the intense bingo game. It is true that it requires a lot of concentration to be able to handle and enjoy this sort of experience but there is no doubt that it is enjoyable. In fact, I have even rethought the issue and I would like to add some extra measure of understanding that has recently dawned on me. I have decided to share this insight with you. Of course, anyone who has shared similar thoughts or experiences is welcome to comment!

Bingo Meditation

I have realized that the special feeling that accompanies more intense bingo playing is actually a form of meditation. Truly, when one dwells upon it, there are indeed many parallels and the special sense of attunement with the bingo cards is certainly akin to the heightened awareness that at times accompanies meditation. Yet, there are ways in which bingo meditation is superior to simple meditation. First, there is the suspense of the game. No simple...

Bingo Intensity

My Previous Opinions

In my previous blog I described the fact although some people (who are not 'hard core' bingo players) might view the more intense bingo players as gamblers or people with a gambling streak, my friend claimed that this is often not the case. In order to understand what he meant, I took it upon myself to try just such a bingo game session and see what it is like. Fortunately, I did not have to wait long for my next session. I can now report what it was like.

A Whole New Playing Experience

First of all, my modest winnings for this more intense session were slightly higher than I usually score at my bingo games but that might have simply been the smile of Lady Luck. I can certainly tell that there is something special and unique in the experience of sitting opposite all those cards, locked in intense concentration. I admit that the social event lost some of its importance in the face of those cards. The social event became a sort of backdrop for...

Bingo Styles

Two Styles

There are generally two styles of bingo players. There are those who purchase one or two cards per bingo event and see the main enjoyment from the crowd and the socializing. For them, the brief excitement of the bingo competition is a sort of background for the social event. On the other hand, there are the so called 'hard core' bingo players who purchase several bingo cards and stare intently at them throughout the bingo game attentively following every number that is drawn. These people might win more, more often yet they seem to be missing something from the bingo experience. At least, so I thought until I made a fascinating discovery...

Personal Experience

In truth, I always identified myself with the first sort of bingo players. Although not a social shark, the fun of meeting people and pleasantly socializing with a bingo race in the background appealed to me and I personally found it difficult to understand those previously described 'hard core'...

My Bingo Blog

A Fresh Start

I have taken upon myself to maintain this bingo blog. I think that bingo has a lot to offer us and is an incredibly fun form of entertainment. I also recognize the importance of bingo as a social game and I shall attempt to address such issues in my blog. As this is my bingo blog, I can write whatever I feel like and I will certainly do so. Since I perceive myself as an interesting person with fascinating ideas I hope that readers will enjoy reading what I have to say. Of course, people are welcome to comment and share their opinions with me and my readers. Sometimes, I may even answer them (although I can't make any promises). Even if I don't, the opinions of others are always highly valued.

Bingo the Game

Just to make things clear and to ascertain that we are all talking about the same thing, I will briefly describe the game of bingo. Bingo games consist of boards with the letters BINGO printed on top. Each letter heads a column of five numbers (or other...
