What do you do with a Big Win?

A Continuation of a Previous Discussion

Before I discuss the comments of my readers, I would like to to continue the discussion from the previous blog. As you will recall, I described that a friend of mine won a big prize during my last bingo session. The sum he won was a total of ten glorious grand. Of course, this winning was accompanied by the minor jests surrounding the value of the dollar. After these friendly remarks, the discussion naturally shifted to the plans for the cash. Everyone who has ever played for big jackpots has probably spent several enjoyable moments wondering precisely what he would do if he should win the big prize. My friend, who is marrying off his second daughter in two months, decided that the money will all go for a fun vacation for himself and his wife. This is something he wanted to do very much and the big win will let him realize this dream.

A Nice Approach

This brings me to an interesting point that I hope to discuss in more detail in some future blog entry. Even so, as this win is quite fresh, I would like to take the opportunity to point out that this is, in my opinion, precisely the point of wins of such an amount. It seems to me that a person who has a good and stable income will not find an extra ten thousand dollars to be a sum that will seriously change his life. Therefore, such a sum should be deployed in obtaining something that will be good for the winner and is something that he might otherwise not have purchased. This could be some new gadgets or electrical appliances, house home improvements or a trip abroad. The actual choice is, of course, up to the winner. The point of such a win is to let the win make a significant impact on the quality of life of the winner. My friend's plan for himself and his wife is just that. They will (hopefully) return from their planned vacation happy and full of positive experiences that will accompany them for a long time to come.
