I purchased the Aspire One mostly for use on the internet and also for photos. I did purchase the 6.5 hour battery and that is the best part about this netbook. I also purchased a Samsung DVD RW drive. I'm very pleased with that
I'm a little less than happy with the Aspire One as it's very slow which is something I wanted to avoid. If you are planning on purchasing the Aspire One it will end up costing a lot more than you might think. It will be necessary to purchase the extra memory as well as the larger battery and also the portable drive. Those three items drive up the cost. You also will have to purchase any software that you may need ie: virus protection, microsoft word or office just to start.
If you're a mac person and think the aspire one is an inexpensive alternative to a new macbook think again...in the long run it will probably cost more.
