dreaming it all up again...

well, this blog is not dead but it isn't working properly. i've been unable to post pictures for some reason. all my link graphics in the sidebar don't show up but yet they're still in the file manager.

i get error messages whenever i try to upload pictures. i've tried contacting blogigo's tech support but have yet to get a reply back. so instead i've reluctantly decided to move to a new blog...

so if anyone's still here reading this, my new U2 blog can be found at the following url:

   http://abel299.vox.com/

see you on the other side!

october 29, 2005...a beautiful day in dallas!

saturday's show was absolutely awesome.
i'm still recovering from it. i guess you know you're getting too old for GA when it takes you 2 days to recover

it was indeed a beautiful day in dallas.
sunshine, perfect temperatures, great fans to hang around with in the
GA lineup. i even bumped into some people who recognized me from
chicago

only bad part about the day was getting a sunburn.

i was so worn out already by the time the opening band started i was
begging for it to be over already. they were great but i just couldn't
really get into it.
i had only had about 4 hours sleep the night before which is probably why i was so tired.

i didn't get into the ellipse, but i was on the outside rail, just up
from the center on adam's side. i was in the 2nd row so i didn't even
have a rail to lean against.
i'll admit it, i was miserable.

of course when U2 came on i started to forget how tired i was and
enjoyed the show for the most part. except i couldn't see too good...

live from brussels...

my boyfriend saw U2 in Brussels today.
he called me during "One" which was wonderful to get to listen to it
live, even though the connection wasn't that clear. i felt so close
like i was almost there "One" even though i'm half a world away.
he also sent me this pic via his camera phone.

  Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you
Now you got someone to blame

You say
One love
One life
When it’s one need
In the night
It’s one love
We get to share it
It leaves you baby
If you don’t care for it

Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without

Well it’s too late
Tonight
To drag tha past out
Into the light
We’re one
But we’re not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other
One

Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come tor raise the dead
Havew you come here to play jesus
To the lepers in your head...

way to go larry!

  from u2.com:

"An open letter from Larry Mullen
This is not something that I would normally do, but I feel that I have to do something to redress this situation. There was a mess up in the way the tickets were distributed through U2.com for the Vertigo pre-sale. Some of it was beyond our control, but some of it wasn't. I am now in the process of figuring out a way of distributing the tickets for our intended return to North America in the fall. The only fair way of doing this, is to give U2 Propaganda members, who are now U2.com members, priority in the queue. After that, people will be given priority in the order in which they joined. Many people who joined U2.com and didn't get tickets are understandably angry. They now have the option to get a full refund of their subscription fee. The idea that our long-time U2 fans and scalpers competed for U2 tickets through our own web site is appalling to me. I want to apologise to you who have suffered that. If your U2.com pre-sale...

vertigo in the round

saw this posted on u2log.com

  http://u2log.com/mt31/mt-comments.cgi?entry_id=2979

Inside the egg, U2's stage design The wait is almost over. The official tour announcement is just
hours away, and we've got a li'l something that may make you more
excited about it if you're a general admission lover.

Since the revelation that there would be a U2 tour in 2005, fans
have been speculating about the band having a special general admission
section similar to the heart during the Elevation Tour. Speculate no
more! We're happy to report that there will indeed be a special general
admission section for the Vertigo Tour.

The design of the special general admission section is oval, or
egg-shaped, and features a unique entrance. We can't say that we know a
lot about the design and how fans will fit inside of it, but we can
show you what it looks like as configured for the opening show at San
Diego Sports Arena.

chicago bound...

well i can't believe i did it, but i did it.
i was really hoping for madison square garden tickets.
unfortunately those sold out in minutes.
i was able to get 2 tickets for chicago on may 9th.
they're not GA though. just sucky 3rd level section 312.
but at least i get to see U2!
i thought well, in case U2 doesn't do a third leg, i'd rather see U2 from the 3rd level than not at all!
i can't believe i'm going to Chicago haha!
hey maybe i can catch the Oprah show while i'm there ...hmm.

and of course no GA means i get to spend more time hanging around outside the venue, instead of waiting in line.
and hopefully getting to meet the band and get autographs!

and don't forget May 9th is a day before Bono's birthday
