Inside the egg, U2's stage design

The wait is almost over. The official tour announcement is just hours away, and we've got a li'l something that may make you more excited about it if you're a general admission lover.

Since the revelation that there would be a U2 tour in 2005, fans have been speculating about the band having a special general admission section similar to the heart during the Elevation Tour. Speculate no more! We're happy to report that there will indeed be a special general admission section for the Vertigo Tour.

The design of the special general admission section is oval, or egg-shaped, and features a unique entrance. We can't say that we know a lot about the design and how fans will fit inside of it, but we can show you what it looks like as configured for the opening show at San Diego Sports Arena.

chicago bound...

by: ABEL

well i can't believe i did it, but i did it.
i was really hoping for madison square garden tickets.
unfortunately those sold out in minutes.
i was able to get 2 tickets for chicago on may 9th.
they're not GA though.  just sucky 3rd level section 312.
but at least i get to see U2!
i thought well, in case U2 doesn't do a third leg, i'd rather see U2 from the 3rd level than not at all!
i can't believe i'm going to Chicago haha!
hey maybe i can catch the Oprah show while i'm there ...hmm.

and of course no GA means i get to spend more time hanging around outside the venue, instead of waiting in line.
and hopefully getting to meet the band and get autographs!

and don't forget May 9th is a day before Bono's birthday

well here it is folks....

by: ABEL

i must say not quite what i was hoping for.
i'm a little dissappointed there's no Texas in the first leg.
i wish i could afford to go to Dublin, that would be way cool to see U2 in ireland.
here's to hoping for a third leg...

finally something to get excited about!

by: ABEL

Mood: excited

U2's 2005 tour is set to be announced on U2.Com this Monday.

And right now we can tell you that it will be called 'The Vertigo Tour', that it will kick off on the US West Coast at the end of March before arriving in Europe in the summer... and that Kings of Leon are on board as support act in the US.

Keep checking U2.Com for more tour news as we get it.

On Monday we'll have the countries, cities, venues, dates - and the all-important ticket information.

We'll also be mailing you with details of how you - as a U2.Com Member - can take part in the advance presale of tickets, before they go on sale to the general public.
